Michigan Health Insurance Quotes and Detroit Hea

Life in Michigan has always had its ups and downs, but much like the rest of the country, there seems to be more “downs” right now. Here in the home of Motown and the American auto industry, the economy is taking its toll on millions of people. But when times get tough, it’s not a good idea to go without Michigan health insurance coverage for yourself and your family. Having a reliable policy provides safety and security, and can provide vital financial aid in times of medical emergencies.

Sign the Petition to End Discrfimination of Wome

Did you know that being a woman is increasingly considered a “pre-existing condition” by health insurance companies?

No, we’re not kidding. Perhaps the most underreported practice of discrimination in our health care system is that women are regularly denied coverage for “pre-existing conditions” that include pregnancy, a previous C-Section, or being a victim of past domestic abuse.

Tales of Health Insurance Woes and Desperation

No guarantees: 3 tales of insurance disaster – Dose of reality

As the mother of a toddler who survives only because of the breathing tubes up his nose, the feeding tube in his gut, and the expertise of doctors in three cities, Courtney Elliott is keenly aware of the high costs of medical care — in every sense of the word.

Until her son, Linden, 2, was born with mitochondrial disease, a rare genetic disorder, the 28-year-old Tennessee woman had no idea that a bright, energetic child could hover constantly on the edge of death.

And she certainly didn’t know that a family with good income and excellent health insurance could be devastated by out-of-pocket medical fees that top $25,000 a year.

Peter Schiff Speaks Out

Peter is usually much more vehement and outspoken when he recommends the investment of betting against the US economy and its currency. However the guy is running for the Senate seat in Connecticut and can’t appear to be very outspoken about the fact that living in America and investing here is the equivalent of burning your life savings in a fire. At this point I recommend the dollar for shorting and am long in any currency that is not economically tied to ours. Even Europe scares me.

That being said if you live in Connecticut I would advise you to support Mr. Schiff as when the decline of America occurs we will best served by having someone in office to be able to say, “I told you so.”

I think that Ron Paul although very admirable is too much on the fringe as his associations with Alex Jones leaves me wondering as to his mindset. The guy believes in aliens and conspiracies.

California Health Insurance | California Health

Have you been “California Dreamin’” for a life in paradise? Well, you’re not alone! Millions of dreamers and hard-workers have long flocked to the “Golden State” to realize their dreams of stardom, sunshine, success, happiness. At East Coast Health Insurance, the leading brokerage for affordable policies, we’re proud to provide our customers with many different California health insurance plans. When you contact our qualified agents, you’ll be given a full menu of policies tailored for your specific needs and budget.

California houses more people than any other, and sports every type of climate and environment – mountains, coastal communities, snowy areas, deserts – is represented within the state’s borders. And this state offers an endless variety of benefits for residents, as well. Aside from the gorgeous natural scenery, there are huge metropolitan areas, cultural highlights, a thriving economy and involved government (“Hello, ‘Governor Terminator’!”), and a true melting pot of nationalities and ethnicities. But with so much diversity, it’s not easy to provide residents with ideal California health insurance coverage necessary to lead a productive (and safe) lifestyle.

Health Insurance Companies Make Decision to Decl

Guess it is two in one day. Now it is being reported that underweight premies are being denied health insurance. Of course the publicity comes and

Embattled health insurance companies are taking a page from Goldlilocks. Last week, a 4-month-old child was denied insurance for being too heavy (the company has since changed its mind). Now the Web is buzzing about a toddler who was denied coverage for being too small.

On Wednesday morning, “The Today Show” covered the story of 2-year-old Aislin Bates. Though she weighs just 22 pounds (in the third percentile range for kids her age), her doctor has described her as being perfectly healthy, never having been sick with anything more than a cold. Still, United HealthCare didn’t buy it, saying that the child didn’t meet height and weight standards. So, no insurance for Aislin.

Rape Victims Being Victimized by Health Insuranc

From a feminist blog we are now being informed about a rape victim being declined medical coverage. Last month we reported on the fact that the health insurance industry was considering spousal abuse victims to have pre-existing conditions.

I am really starting to think that it is time for a single payer system that discriminates against no one. Certain things that can be abused need to be regulated. Wall Street, Health Care, and the power companies.

Health Insurance Reform Update and the Economy f

Senate Democrats Hit Snag With Doctor Payment Bill

New York Times, Robert Pear, 10/21/2009

In the face of solid Republican opposition, Senate Democrats on Tuesday backed down from their effort to increase Medicare payments to doctors without offsetting any of the cost over the next 10 years.

In this story the Democrats realize that they can’t have everything want as their need to appeal to both Seniors and the Physician lobby doesn’t appear to help their plan to offer health insurance to as many people as possible and also keep the economy from collapsing. Yes we all want health care and health insurance and no doubt for free, but we also want to keep the United States from collapsing from the crushing weight of debt. Single payer will solve all of these problems as would many of Ron Paul’s libertarian ideals. Though if we go his route many Americans will feel a high amount of pain for a time before the economy is finally able to recover for all of the years of Government abuse. If we go the single payer route (which is what I espouse) we will still be on a collision course with economic collapse (much like Britain) as our debt and deficits will surely become unmanageable. Solution: Move to Canada!

Health Insurance Survey for Health Executives F

This survey from the Daily Industry Radar reveals how out of touch the physician and medical field is from the health insurance industry. Who is correct? The health insurance plan executives have their own lets say unique perspective that is totally off base and has no support from any consumers or physicians. It also is apparent that no one from the health plan executive side even agrees with each other. The point of this article and what the survey shows is that these health insurance company people are trying to further their own cause and looking out for their own self interests. But that is hardly news. It would be news if they did something out of generosity. What is striking about the survey though is that even though these guys want to make sure they can increase profits every year they are unsure of how to sell it to the American public. Thus they can’t even agree with each other when taking a survey that you would minimally expect to show unity.

Health Insurance Premiums Go Up, Employer Contri

Fewer than half of employee benefit plan sponsors say the money they pay toward workers’ benefits has increased this year. So even though health care costs have gone up about 10% this year you won't be getting to keep your health insurance plan. Your benefits on average have declined as your employer, unless they shopped for a new plan till they found something much cheaper, kept the premiums the same and thus lowered your benefits by most likely raising your deductible.

Now if you are healthy no big deal, but if you have medical situations come up routine or otherwise you can look forward to spending more of your own money on medical costs. That is like getting a pay cut. Not to mention the inflation that is most likely also going to cut your salary as the dollar weakens against gold.

Health Insurance on the College Campus

As August progresses, the summer draws to a close and schools open. And for parents sending someone off to college, there’s the rush of buying comforters and dorm-room snacks, laptops and window fans. The car is loaded, the textbooks are bought, and kids are scheduled into school for the year. But before unloading that final car-load (indeed, before even setting off for school) parents should do some research about the university health care system that will be protecting their child in case of sickness or accident.

Florida Health Insurance News

In an ongoing series of posts about the facts of healthcare, we thought it important—especially in the Florida market—to discuss how the health care reform bill will affect seniors, especially those who rely on Medicare.

The President, and Congress, are both talking about cutting Medicare, which by definition is bad for seniors who rely on the program, right?

Not necessarily. If we continue as we are, by 2019 (ten years from now) spending on Medicare and Medicaid would be 8% of GDP which the country simply cannot afford. It’s estimated, though, that the program would run out of money far before then.

Spent any time listening to the health care debate recently? It seems almost impossible to avoid, and the partisan fighting on either side of the aisle can make for a difficult time in understanding the issues.

President Obama has tried to lay out his plans to show how they will benefit all Americans, and while some of the details of the funding and budgeting remain fuzzy, the reforms are fairly comprehensive. A stop in July in Ohio gave the President the stage to speak in a town-hall type meeting.

Health Insurance Companies Looking to Get Richer

Health Insurance is mandatory? Fines imposed? Let’s make health insurance a mandatory requirement and thus force everyone to buy health insurance from the same 7 or 8 companies. Then lets see how rich these companies get and how good they can be at making claim denials in spite of the so called repeal of underwriting. Finally lets watch them merge into one or two companies and really impose their will on the backs of American lives.

This is no pipe dream. This is the most likely outcome at this point. Lets review the solutions:

Health Care Reform is Getting Lobbyied and Bulli

“Total health care costs in the last 20 years have doubled to about 16 percent of the economy, with no signs of tapering. Along with universal coverage, Mr. Obama has made controlling those costs a central pillar of his health care overhaul, calling the current course “unsustainable.” The effort is a pivotal test of his campaign promise to break the stranglehold of special interests.”

But the real reason why we’ve spotlighted this quaint community is that of its much sought-after quality of life. Here, children play safely in well-maintained neighborhood parks. Southern seniors stroll, while also taking advantage of much more strenuous activities. Bicyclists and joggers sweat away their stress, and improve their times, on the area’s many pathways and trails. And all of these citizens share one thing — top-notch medical care.

Tampa Hillsborough County Health Insurance Optio

What Plan Should I Buy in Tampa, Hillsborough County

Tampa/Hillsborough County health insurance plans are a little less complicated then South Florida health insurance plans by the simple fact that there is 2 less choices! There are only 6 health insurance companies in Tampa which makes my job so much simpler. The six companies are (in no particular order) Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Coventry, Humana, and United Health Care. Of course there are more then five health insurance companies in Tampa but the other ones are simply not competitive in the best situation with these five companies. But at worst they are (in 90% of cases) trying to rip you off. I would not in any situation (unless it is future) buy any health insurance plan in Tampa besides the five companies above. First up is the first six companies to review. It seems they are ordered by the least expensive health insurance company to the most expensive. United Health Care is number one and as a health insurance broker is the company that I have personally. However, (and this is a big however) United Health Care/ Golden Rule is an association based health insurance company.

Go Blue is a Discount Plan not Health Insurance

Go Blue is Not Health Insurance! It is a Discount Plan. Discount Plans are not health insurance. Therefore Go Blue is not a good idea.

Don’t buy goblue period. I am saying this because I discourage people from buying discount plans and I would be remiss if I didn’t include Go Blue. As I have said countless times, having health insurance can prevent you from obtaining a government assistance plan like Medicaid, so even the worst health insurance plan can hurt you in more ways than you might think.

Health Care Reform is needed now, more americans

14,000 Americans are losing their health insurance per day. But NO,

Health Insurance is not in crises. Everything is fine. Additionally the economy isn’t in recession, its just napping, don’t forget the economy ate alot of turkey for lunch and turkey has that chemical that makes you sleepy. I believe it is called stouffers.

14,000 Americans are losing their health insurance per day! I am posting an important piece on the fact that the lack of health insurance is become an epidemic. Of course so is poverty but there are only two things that humans need. Actually three if you count reading this blog. Food and medicine. Shelter is nice too though I believe that living in my apartment in Boca Raton (Mizner Park specifically) might be a step up below homelessness. ( Mizner Park Apartments is the worst place to live in America. I advise a diet of broken glass shards as a more healthy way to live. Its not that there are roaches or drug dealers here, its that the roaches are drug dealers and worse they are on steroids.)

Health Care Reform and the Right to Life Issue

As we continue to discuss some of the arguments for and against (and about) health care reform, one of the biggest "hot buttons" out there is the issue of the government - sponsored health care reform providing end-of-life counseling. This has been talked about as providing euthanasia to certain patients with terminal disease. A scary concept, indeed.

In fact, that is not what end-of-life counseling means. It is actually these kind of perversions of the issues that make the arguments spiral out of control and forestall constructive debate. So to discuss this issue, and understand the provision, in black and white is important.

Health Reform and a Health Broker: A Love Story

I am Florida health insurance broker, and I am also an economic doomsday foreseer. Having a finance and accounting background, I have a very boring economic theory addiction, which means don't invite me to your parties. I have read so many liberal and conservative books about the

real estate crash lately, and one can surmise that the only concurrent conclusion is that the country is in serious economic peril in the near term. To fix the current economic problems we are spending money that hasn't been made yet. A great deal of this money is currently budgeted on Medicare and other health programs including private and public health care. We are paying the bookie with next week's paycheck, and perhaps this would be fine if we hadn't been doing it for so long. With nearly all of the baby boomers getting ready to retire in the next few years health costs are set to explode!

Florida Health Insurance Shoppers Guide to Coins

Health insurance in Florida, is a little like health insurance in the rest of the country only with many more shenanigans. This is why we offer the guide to shopping for health insurance in Florida. The singularly most important thing to watch for is your out of pocket annual maximum. In many cases this is the most prime area for companies and health agents to pull a fast one. The agents will typically show you a deductible which is somewhat low and then they stop there and will not even discuss coinsurance which comes after the deductible and is really a continuation of the deductible

Florida Health Insurance News

As a way of slowing down the posting about the end of the dollar here is an interesting health insurance article I found.

Blue Cross Blue Shield has like 90% of the individual health insurance market in Florida. They would probably have a higher percentage of group health insurance too but their prices are just too high. They could lower them but what for? They make way more money with their individual health product which is only for healthy people. Group health insurance has no underwriting as they have to take everyone.

The key to fostering competition in health care would be to first yank some of these non profit tags from companies like Blue Cross who are more profit oriented then Wall Street in many cases.

Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) October 04, 2009 - East Coast Health Insurance (http://echealthinsurance.com)/, Florida's most popular health insurance brokerage has swung open the doors of its online health insurance shopping store.

According to Alexa, the website ranking authority, ECHealthInsurance.com is not only the most popular health insurance website in Florida but it seems they are one of the most popular websites period. Being currently opened in Florida exclusively, it seemed to defy explanation that a one state health insurance brokerage could be so popular in the world.

Florida Health Insurance and Smoking the Awful T

First of all I got the idea for this post from a great website about smoking cessation www.4quitsmokinghelp.com that posted a comment on another article of mine and pinged it. Pinging is a blog term for linking to it, I think it could also mean that you are being followed and spied on by Donald Rumsfeld, so I am currently looking into this and will have an answer for you in a future post. But in the meantime, I have to promote this person's website as there is no way that anyone that wants to help people quit smoking can be harmful. Having just quit smoking myself about 6 months ago for the 30th time (this time I am done though) I can tell you that he has a great site and one of the great articles that I found was about the lesser known tribulations of quitting smoking. Luckily, this last time I quit smoking was so much easier because I used the laser which was amazing. I walked in a smoker and walked out a beautifully happy ex smoker. No side effects, or nothing. This particular guy was in Aventura and a quick lookup on the old google will surely find him one second if you are ready to take the plunge, but even if you aren't I would just go there with no expectations and gamble the $250 and give it a whirl if you have tried to quit in the past.

ADHD and Preexisting Statutes in Florida Health

Here’s the excerpts from the Aetna Florida Insurance UW guidelines regarding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)..and below that you’ll find the Pre-existing condition clause details and Florida statutes…Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida is 24 months, and AvMed does not waive the 12 month period regardless if you’ve had prior creditable coverage. Most Florida health insurance companies do actually use a 12 month preexisting period very similar to what you will find in these descriptions. In regards to a question from one of our Florida health insurance brokers, we thought it might be a good idea to not only explain preexisting conditions limitations in Florida but also as it relates to ADHD as an example case to check out.
