National Organization for Women opposes Senate health bill

Guess who hates the Health Reform Bill now? Liberal group NOW (National Organization for Women) who though are are a left wing organization whom everyone should support based on the fact that they seek to protect the rights of 50% of the population and moreover have an agenda that consists of protecting the rights of women and that includes making sure all women have adequate access to health care.

Broward, Fort Lauderdale Health Insurance | Florida Health Insurance

Fort Lauderdale health insurance quote can be difficult to understand. Health Insurance Premium and Quotes in Broward County and Fort Lauderdale including Plantation, Weston, Hollywood, Coral Springs, Pompano Beach, and Oakland Park are very confusing for most people as they go by zip code and demographic. Don’t misunderstand health insurance in complicated in other Florida counties as well but Broward is especially challenging because their zip code combinations are also shared with Miami. ...
Weston Health Insurance and The 330 Zip Code

Another important, overlooked area is the Weston health insurance market. Weston health insurance quotes are identical for the most part to Broward County health insurance quotes. Why do I point this out? Because in the ast due to the 333 prefix on the zip code in Weston, companies like United Health One had different rates in Weston then the rest of the county. Now that this error has been fixed you can confidently buy health insurance in Weston without worrying if you should use your home zip code or office...........

Prescription Drug Plans for Individuals in the United States | Health Insurance | Affordable Health Insurance

Drug prices in this country are through the roof. One of the main factors in the rising cost of health care is the American nonchalance about their prescription use. I talk to people all the time taking Lipitor, who haven’t even ever tried the generic version called Simvastin.

Then once they are forced to get off their group health insurance plan all of sudden they are looking at the premiums that their employer paid for them and the fact that individual health insurance plans usually only cover name brands after a deductible.

In fact, if your Arkansas health insurance plan is not one of the five that I just listed I recommend that you call us at 888 803 5917.

Long Term Care and Health Reform | Health Insurance News, Views, and Reviews

The Senate is expected to introduce a new long-term care health insurance program to help the elderly and medically disabled avoid nursing homes. The legislation which is likely to be introduced by the Senate Majority Leader is supposed to offer a voluntary long term care program possibly tomorrow.

The Community Living Assistance Services and Supports Act, or CLASS Act as it is called was one of Senator Kennedy’s most important issues. This act is necessary in much the same way as Medicare became necessary as it will help alleviate the financial strain on the elderly.

Health Care Legislation Still Providing Loophole

The current bill as it stands now still has plenty of loopholes to guarantee the health insurance industry its profits are able to continue.

For one, disclosures about the health insurance plans that help the public understand what their buying are still missing from the legislation. In other words, its still very simple for the health insurance companies to hide important facts about their plans and policies.

Indiana Health Insurance Quotes | Indiana Health

Indiana health insurance is pretty easy! There are only four main health insurance companies in Indiana and one of them Aetna has only a limited selection of health plans. My recommendation? The Blue Cross Blue Shield plans are the usually the best bet in terms of price and benefits. However, many people are happy with Humana and United Health One (I have United Health One myself!)

Why Do Health Insurance Premiums Go Up and How M

Answer: Well Anonymous this is actually a great question that we get asked time and again. The first part of your question is about Premium Increases. On individual health insurance, premiums can only be increased for an entire demographic. So for instance, they can’t target John Doe aged 40 in Miami for his own 30% increase. Either everyone gets it or nobody gets it. But, there can be multiple increases for the same region but in the different age bands. So all the 40-45 year old males might get a 15% rate increase and all 18-24 males might only get a 4% increase.

Miami Dade Blue Maternity Information | Florida Health Insurance

The maternity benefit can only come into effect if the optional benefit is effective on the policy 30 days prior to conception. If you were pregnant, no medically underwritten plan would be able to offer you coverage since the pregnancy would be considered a declinable pre-existing condition. If you had insurance and then got pregnant before the maternity optional benefit was effective then the routine maternity care would not be covered, but any complications (God forbid) would be covered as a medical benefit under the terms outlined in your regular medical policy.

As you’re probably aware, the nation is gripped with a major healthcare controversy. A large percentage — 47 million Americans, or 20% of all those 65 years or younger – are living without health insurance coverage. But there is good news for the uninsured (or even those unhappy with their present plans). Health Care Reform Passes in the House | Health

Sweeping Health Care Reform passed in the House today! Times they are a changing! Its time to get out your dancing shoes as the new health care reform bill is headed to the Senate where they are sure to excorcise it of any important or helpful laws that are in the slightest way painful for our nation’s health care companies.

“Democrats say the House measure — paid for through new fees and taxes, along with cuts in Medicare — would extend coverage to 36 million people now without insurance while creating a government health insurance program. It would end insurance company practices like not covering pre-existing conditions or dropping people when they become ill.”

Peter Schiff on Jobs and The Economy | Health In

Two dissatisfied customers comment about a restaurant. One says, “The food here is terrible.” The other replies, “I know, and such small portions!” In many ways, they could be describing our current employment picture. Not only are the portions shrinking, but the jobs themselves are steadily losing quality.

Today’s release of the October jobs report showed the loss of another 190,000 jobs had pushed the official unemployment rate to 10.2%, only the second time since the Great Depression that unemployment was quoted in double digits (factoring in workers who had given up job hunting altogether or have settled for part-time work would push that rate to 17.5%). That didn’t stop Wall Street pundits from trying to fashion a silk purse of this sow’s ear. The ‘green shoots’ crowd focused on the slowing pace of job losses, the nascent economic ‘recovery’ (even if it is jobless), and the projected improvement in 2010. No mention was even made of the quality of what few jobs were being created.

Consumer Driven Health Plans | Health Insurance

One of the solutions being advocated as a possible solution in the health care reform debates are consumer-directed health plans. The goal here is to make consumers (the patients) more actively involved in their own health and wellness, with a focus on preventative care. The plans are a positive for employers, whose costs in offering such plans are reduced in comparison to traditional coverage plans; in fact, many businesses who might not otherwise offer health insurance find that the costs of CDHPs make them viable (especially small businesses, who do not always realize economies of scale when offering a plan to a limited number of employees).

AARP Individual Health Insurance Plans Underwritten by Aetna | Health Insurance | Affordable Health Insurance

The AARP plan has come a long way baby! Since being taken over by Aetna from United Health Care the plan has become a considerable force in the individual health insurance market for the over 55 but below 65 crowd. Why? Because the AARP and Aetna understand that people in this age bracket are not 100% healthy by the normal definition. In essence, they have eased the underwriting on these policies, while keeping the costs under control

But what I did not expect was this abortion thing! Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida Catastrophic P

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida has been offering catastrophic health plans for a very long time. In fact their in house sales team probably makes a habit of pitching their Go Blue Plans with a Florida Blue Cross Blue Shield Catastrophic plan way too much in my opinion. Go Blue is the Florida Discount plan that is very cheap and much better than most discount plans offered by other health insurance or plain old rip off health insurance companies. Their indemnity plans are alright nothing spectacular, however they are very affordable compared to other Florida Catastrophic Indemnity plans.

Public Option is a Red Herring | Health Insuranc

When I was going through the various newspapers and so forth for today’s blog posts. I found out that the Public Option is a great big giant red herring. While everyone was looking they wagged the dog on the health care changes. I didn’t think that anyone in Congress especially would have the guts to go against the health insurance companies, drug makers, and right wing lobbyists. Boy was I right. It seems like the Kaiser Organization has revealed that the Public Option will help the Health Insurance Companies after all. Nothing is going to change it is going to be the same crap. Congratulations, America its another Turd.

I predict this turd will even outdo the prior turd laid by the Bush administration with their prescription bill which is an abortion itself. Just when I thought I couldn’t hate the politics of this country anymore they prove me wrong.

I swear to god if I have to turn away one person from the public option because they are not sick enough or not poor enough, I will start a freakin revolution. Yes I am going to ignite a revolution. Not as grand or great as the American revolution but pretty close. I am going to abdicate the Revolution begin with a long two hour nap and then we all wake up and realize how crappy everything has gotten. Enough with the ranting enjoy the post today from the Washington Post.

Maternity Health Insurance Coverage | Health Ins

In the United States individual health insurance coverage for maternity is best described as less than adequate for most families. In fact, if you are the average American in terms of assets and income you might be best suited applying for Medicaid. Medicaid is the best health insurance possible for pregnant women because it is free and offers coverage for the newborn as well for the first year provided there is no substantial change in income.

Health Insurance Height and Weight Charts | Heal

Due to the fact that health insurance companies in America use underwriting to evaluate your insurability, it should come as no surprise to anyone that they will also consider your height and weight as part of their underwriting criteria. In fact, it is one of the first things they look at and the last thing.

Michigan Health Insurance Quotes and Detroit Hea

Life in Michigan has always had its ups and downs, but much like the rest of the country, there seems to be more “downs” right now. Here in the home of Motown and the American auto industry, the economy is taking its toll on millions of people. But when times get tough, it’s not a good idea to go without Michigan health insurance coverage for yourself and your family. Having a reliable policy provides safety and security, and can provide vital financial aid in times of medical emergencies.

Sign the Petition to End Discrfimination of Wome

Did you know that being a woman is increasingly considered a “pre-existing condition” by health insurance companies?

No, we’re not kidding. Perhaps the most underreported practice of discrimination in our health care system is that women are regularly denied coverage for “pre-existing conditions” that include pregnancy, a previous C-Section, or being a victim of past domestic abuse.

Tales of Health Insurance Woes and Desperation

No guarantees: 3 tales of insurance disaster – Dose of reality

As the mother of a toddler who survives only because of the breathing tubes up his nose, the feeding tube in his gut, and the expertise of doctors in three cities, Courtney Elliott is keenly aware of the high costs of medical care — in every sense of the word.

Until her son, Linden, 2, was born with mitochondrial disease, a rare genetic disorder, the 28-year-old Tennessee woman had no idea that a bright, energetic child could hover constantly on the edge of death.

And she certainly didn’t know that a family with good income and excellent health insurance could be devastated by out-of-pocket medical fees that top $25,000 a year.

Florida Health Insurance News

Peter Schiff Speaks Out

Peter is usually much more vehement and outspoken when he recommends the investment of betting against the US economy and its currency. However the guy is running for the Senate seat in Connecticut and can’t appear to be very outspoken about the fact that living in America and investing here is the equivalent of burning your life savings in a fire. At this point I recommend the dollar for shorting and am long in any currency that is not economically tied to ours. Even Europe scares me.

That being said if you live in Connecticut I would advise you to support Mr. Schiff as when the decline of America occurs we will best served by having someone in office to be able to say, “I told you so.”

I think that Ron Paul although very admirable is too much on the fringe as his associations with Alex Jones leaves me wondering as to his mindset. The guy believes in aliens and conspiracies.

California Health Insurance | California Health

Have you been “California Dreamin’” for a life in paradise? Well, you’re not alone! Millions of dreamers and hard-workers have long flocked to the “Golden State” to realize their dreams of stardom, sunshine, success, happiness. At East Coast Health Insurance, the leading brokerage for affordable policies, we’re proud to provide our customers with many different California health insurance plans. When you contact our qualified agents, you’ll be given a full menu of policies tailored for your specific needs and budget.

California houses more people than any other, and sports every type of climate and environment – mountains, coastal communities, snowy areas, deserts – is represented within the state’s borders. And this state offers an endless variety of benefits for residents, as well. Aside from the gorgeous natural scenery, there are huge metropolitan areas, cultural highlights, a thriving economy and involved government (“Hello, ‘Governor Terminator’!”), and a true melting pot of nationalities and ethnicities. But with so much diversity, it’s not easy to provide residents with ideal California health insurance coverage necessary to lead a productive (and safe) lifestyle.

Health Insurance Companies Make Decision to Decl

Guess it is two in one day. Now it is being reported that underweight premies are being denied health insurance. Of course the publicity comes and

Embattled health insurance companies are taking a page from Goldlilocks. Last week, a 4-month-old child was denied insurance for being too heavy (the company has since changed its mind). Now the Web is buzzing about a toddler who was denied coverage for being too small.

On Wednesday morning, “The Today Show” covered the story of 2-year-old Aislin Bates. Though she weighs just 22 pounds (in the third percentile range for kids her age), her doctor has described her as being perfectly healthy, never having been sick with anything more than a cold. Still, United HealthCare didn’t buy it, saying that the child didn’t meet height and weight standards. So, no insurance for Aislin.

Rape Victims Being Victimized by Health Insuranc

From a feminist blog we are now being informed about a rape victim being declined medical coverage. Last month we reported on the fact that the health insurance industry was considering spousal abuse victims to have pre-existing conditions.

I am really starting to think that it is time for a single payer system that discriminates against no one. Certain things that can be abused need to be regulated. Wall Street, Health Care, and the power companies.

Health Insurance Reform Update and the Economy f

Senate Democrats Hit Snag With Doctor Payment Bill

New York Times, Robert Pear, 10/21/2009

In the face of solid Republican opposition, Senate Democrats on Tuesday backed down from their effort to increase Medicare payments to doctors without offsetting any of the cost over the next 10 years.

In this story the Democrats realize that they can’t have everything want as their need to appeal to both Seniors and the Physician lobby doesn’t appear to help their plan to offer health insurance to as many people as possible and also keep the economy from collapsing. Yes we all want health care and health insurance and no doubt for free, but we also want to keep the United States from collapsing from the crushing weight of debt. Single payer will solve all of these problems as would many of Ron Paul’s libertarian ideals. Though if we go his route many Americans will feel a high amount of pain for a time before the economy is finally able to recover for all of the years of Government abuse. If we go the single payer route (which is what I espouse) we will still be on a collision course with economic collapse (much like Britain) as our debt and deficits will surely become unmanageable. Solution: Move to Canada!

Health Insurance Survey for Health Executives F

This survey from the Daily Industry Radar reveals how out of touch the physician and medical field is from the health insurance industry. Who is correct? The health insurance plan executives have their own lets say unique perspective that is totally off base and has no support from any consumers or physicians. It also is apparent that no one from the health plan executive side even agrees with each other. The point of this article and what the survey shows is that these health insurance company people are trying to further their own cause and looking out for their own self interests. But that is hardly news. It would be news if they did something out of generosity. What is striking about the survey though is that even though these guys want to make sure they can increase profits every year they are unsure of how to sell it to the American public. Thus they can’t even agree with each other when taking a survey that you would minimally expect to show unity.

Health Insurance Premiums Go Up, Employer Contri

Fewer than half of employee benefit plan sponsors say the money they pay toward workers’ benefits has increased this year. So even though health care costs have gone up about 10% this year you won't be getting to keep your health insurance plan. Your benefits on average have declined as your employer, unless they shopped for a new plan till they found something much cheaper, kept the premiums the same and thus lowered your benefits by most likely raising your deductible.

Now if you are healthy no big deal, but if you have medical situations come up routine or otherwise you can look forward to spending more of your own money on medical costs. That is like getting a pay cut. Not to mention the inflation that is most likely also going to cut your salary as the dollar weakens against gold.

Health Insurance on the College Campus

As August progresses, the summer draws to a close and schools open. And for parents sending someone off to college, there’s the rush of buying comforters and dorm-room snacks, laptops and window fans. The car is loaded, the textbooks are bought, and kids are scheduled into school for the year. But before unloading that final car-load (indeed, before even setting off for school) parents should do some research about the university health care system that will be protecting their child in case of sickness or accident.

Florida Health Insurance News

In an ongoing series of posts about the facts of healthcare, we thought it important—especially in the Florida market—to discuss how the health care reform bill will affect seniors, especially those who rely on Medicare.

The President, and Congress, are both talking about cutting Medicare, which by definition is bad for seniors who rely on the program, right?

Not necessarily. If we continue as we are, by 2019 (ten years from now) spending on Medicare and Medicaid would be 8% of GDP which the country simply cannot afford. It’s estimated, though, that the program would run out of money far before then.
